About Garrett
The TLDR Version:
I’m Garrett, and I’ve spent the last 18 years building businesses, mentoring people, and learning what it really takes to create a life that feels your own. From real estate to launching and selling a marketing company, my journey has always come back to one thing: understanding people and helping them find their direction. What I’ve learned is that success isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about asking the right questions and taking the first step forward.
The Longer Story:
I got my start in real estate at 18, just a kid trying to figure out how to make it on my own. I didn’t have much of a plan, just drive and honestly, most people didn’t think I’d last. Even my own father told me I’d made a mistake. Around that time, my girlfriend moved in with me, and living together from 19 to 23 taught me as much about life as my career did. I learned how important it was to be attentive and present in a relationship, lessons that shaped not only who I was as a partner, but also how I showed up for clients and people around me.
A few years later, I left Ontario for Alberta to work in the oil sands. Within months I went from the bottom to leading a crew. It was tough, dirty work, and eventually a serious injury forced me out, but it gave me a level of confidence I’d never had before. When I came back to Ontario, I carried that resilience with me into real estate, where I went on to become an award-winning realtor for over a decade. At the same time, I began dating more openly. Between 24 and 27, I was out there meeting new people, learning how to carry myself, how to listen, and how to build real connection.
Not long after, another long-term relationship shifted the course of my life again. That relationship changed how I saw partnership, finances, and responsibility. It directly influenced my decision to launch a marketing company, which I grew, brought in investors, and eventually sold. Business was teaching me about risk and building from scratch, while love was teaching me about compromise, presence, and how finances shape relationships. Both sides were molding me.
Since then, I’ve continued to build businesses and also had several long-term relationships, including through the isolation of COVID and beyond. Each one has brought its own challenges and lessons, deepening my appreciation for what makes love work and what makes it fall apart.
Through all of this, one thing has always been consistent: I’ve been the person people come to when they’re stuck, whether in life, love, or business. I’ve always had a knack for understanding people and helping them figure out what’s next. Guiding others is just the natural extension of that, and it’s why I’m here now.
